B2396 Unregulated DC Bipolar Power Supply
Description:
This series of unregulated power supply assemblies are designed to convert the AC power line to a low voltage, bipolar DC source. The nominal output from the supply is plus and minus 15 volts DC. Models are available to deliver up to 400 ma. to the connected load. Power line input voltages can be selected to be either 115 or 230 volts AC, single phase, 50 or 60 Hz. This device is typically used to supply low voltage DC power to electronic controls and transducers that include their own internal voltage regulators.
This industrial grade module consists of a single circuit board, containing a step down isolation transformer, two full wave bridge rectifiers and a capacitor input filter. Conservative design practices and the use of derated components allow the unit to deliver it's full rated output current over the entire specified operating temperature range without the need for supplementary cooling. Both the plus and minus outputs are fused for short circuit protection.
The circuit board is solder masked and conformal coated. All external user connections and the power line voltage input select jumpers are clearly marked. External connections are made to a single barrier type terminal block, supplied with #6-32 captive wire clamping screws. Each terminal is capable of accepting #12 to #20 AWG wires. The board can be mounted in the user's control enclosure on standoffs or located in plastic mounting track.
Applications:
Used where the ac power line must be converted to a bipolar, low voltage dc supply. The connected electronics should include any required voltage regulators.
