B2687 Unregulated DC to DC Power Supply

Description:
This unregulated power supply assembly is designed to convert a unipolar DC power line to a bipolar DC source. Two models are available for operation with nominal input voltages of 12 or 24 volts DC. Both the positive and negative outputs will track the input voltage within 15% under all load conditions. This device is typically used to provide a negative voltage supply for equipment that is operated from a single polarity DC power line, such as a battery.

This industrial grade module consists of a single circuit board, containing a surge suppressor, reverse polarity protective device, positive to negative voltage converter and fast acting fuses for short circuit protection. Models are available with positive voltage output currents up to 5 amps, the negative voltage output current is 250 ma. maximum.

The positive input voltage is connected directly through a fuse to the output terminals. The negative output voltage is obtained from the positive input supply voltage via a modular switching regulator and transformer assembly. The power supply does not provide isolation between the input and output voltages.

The circuit board is solder masked. All external power and load connections to the module are clearly marked and made to a single barrier type terminal block with #6-32 captive wire clamping plates. The board can be mounted in the user's control enclosure on standoffs or located in plastic mounting track.

Applications:
Used on battery powered or other single positive voltage supply to generate a negative voltage for the electronic circuit boards connected to the output.
