C2505 Unregulated DC Power Supply, Multiple Output
Description:
This unregulated power supply assembly is designed to convert the AC power line to a low voltage DC source. The complete power supply assembly consists of an isolation transformer with dual center tapped secondary winding and a separate circuit board, containing a full wave center tapped rectifier and filter. The power supply can deliver up to a total of 6.5 amps to the connected load.
This power supply assembly is available with one or two isolated outputs. Each output can be supplied for unipolar or bipolar operation. All of the models include a fuse for short circuit protection on each output.
Standard models are available to produce both 12 volt and 24 dc power supplies. Output current ranges from 1.7 amps to 6.5 amps. Current is limited by the power line transformer and may be distributed between as many rectifier assemblies as needed. The dual secondary winding on the power transformer allows for the construction of two totally isolated dc power supplies. This feature is of importance when sections of the control circuit must operate at different common potentials or in those cases where the control system layout forces multiple connections to the plant earth ground.
The rectifier circuit board is solder masked and conformal coated. External wiring connections to the rectifier module are made to a single barrier type terminal block supplied with #6-32 captive wire clamping screws. Each terminal is capable of accepting #12 to #20 AWG wires. External wire connections to the transformer must be soldered. The rectifier circuit board can be mounted in the user's control enclosure on standoffs or located in plastic mounting track.
Applications:
Used where the ac power line must be converted to a bipolar, low voltage dc supply. The connected electronics should include any required voltage regulators.
