EMW CONTROL SYSTEM

Nireco's New Electro Magnetic Wave Sensor Simplifies Installation and Eliminates Obstructions Across the Furnace

The new EWM system is a totally new concept for detecting steel strip edges, detection by electro magnetic waves. The EWM sensor emits electromagnetic waves from antennae embedded in the furnace wall. Using the transmission time for the reflected waves to return, the system accurately measures the strip position. The system offers zero maintenance and is easy to install, even in retro fit applications as it is compact, light weight, and mounts from the outside of the furnace. There are no obstructions within the furnace for the steel to hit and be damaged. While this technology is unique, it is surprisingly economical.

FEATURES:

  • Maintenance free
  • Zero consumable parts
  • Impervious to dust/dirt/fumes within the furnace
  • Compact
  • High sensitivity 0.2 mm resolution
  • Safe operation - no chance of interference with the stip
  • Lightweight
  • Easy to Install
Nireco also offers steel marking systems for hot and cold applications and valve actuators for furnace, coke plant, and casting operations. Contact us today to learn more about all of our steel processing systems.

FAWC CONTROL SYSTEM

Next-Generation CPC Sensor Using Electric Flux Lines

The FAWC is a sensor for detecting the center position of a steel strip in a high-temperature furnace. Its development builds on over 30 years of experience in furnace strip guiding systems. Most conventional CPC, center position control, sensors operate via light or magnetic fields. These methods are prone to interference, require maintenance, and suffer problems with strip width changes. The Nireco The sensor uses no optical systems and is maintenance free. It is also immune to deterioration over time. The rugged construction of the Nireco FAWC sensor utilizes metals that withstand over 1.800 8F, eliminating the need for exposed ceramics that are easily damaged from a strip collision. Furthermore, the distance between electrodes offers a generous 300-500mm gap, minimizing the potential for a strip collision. For precise, reliable control and unique technology, call Nireco today. We will help you determine the best solution for your steel strip steering application.

FEATURES:

  • Maintenance free
  • Operates under harsh conditions
  • High stability
  • High sensitivity
  • Generous gap provides collision avoidance
  • No deterioration at 1000º C
  • Very robust and durable
  • Impervious to dust/dirt/fumes within the furnace
  • No ceramics to damage in case of an accidental collision
  • High sensitivity 0.2 mm resolution
Nireco also offers steel marking systems for hot and cold applications and valve actuators for furnace, coke plant, and casting operations. Contact us today to learn more about all of our steel processing systems.

CPC CONTROL SYSTEMS

Nireco's Center Position Control Systems Include Next-Generation CPC Sensor Using Electric Flux Lines

Nireco's Capacitance Autowide is a center position control sensor for continuous center position measurement of a steel strip. The Nireco AWC is a capacitance sensor that uses no optical systems, and is able to operate continuously without maintenance. It is immune to precision deterioration over time, and to any effects of ambient lighting. The generous gap of 300-500 mm provides for collision avoidance. Like all of Nireco's steel processing systems, the AWC is highly rugged and heavy duty. Contact us today to discuss your application needs. We provide complete systems for all steering applications from a single replacement or upgrades to custom designed, multiple section control electro-hydraulic or full electric control systems.

FEATURES:
  • Maintenance free
  • Operates under harsh conditions
  • High stability
  • High sensitivity
  • Generous gap provides collision avoidance
  • Very robust and durable
  • Impervious to dust/dirt/fumes within the furnace
  • High sensitivity 0.2 mm resolution
APPLICATIONS:
  • Intermediate Steering Roll
  • Payoff Reel (unwind)
  • Tension reel control (rewind)
Additional strip steering sensors include LED, Optical CCD, and Inductance for pickling line applications. Nireco also offers steel marking systems for hot and cold applications and valve actuators for furnace, coke plant, and casting operations.
